Bolivar Coronas Gigantes: PUR JUN 16: (BWRC )

Have a few boxes of these and have been taking my time through this first box.  The first large format cigar that really suited me taste wise.  Have smoked through 10 from this box so far.   6 were “wow” cigars, two were “meh...” and one was a plugged disappointment.  Paired with Stranahan’s whiskey.  This one started out in the “meh...” category.   By the end it was a good cigar.  Grade on a curve with the  first third a 86, second a solid 89 and the final third a bit closer to 91 for me.  Just didn’t have it all this time....    Seemed a well constructed cigar. 

Indeed the burn was perfect throughout. Started out extremely mild in flavor and light on smoke production. 

Typical earthiness.  Not very strong though.  Flavor intensity picked up near the 1/2, but no new flavors were present.  Certainly wasn’t on a “journey” but the walk wasn’t unsatisfying.  

Final third the earthiness intensified and some sweetness and aromatic spice moved in.  If it had started here the stick would have Joined the aforementioned 6 that were phenominal.   As it ended it was just a “good cigar”.

Been there.  Didn’t want to miss out on these and took a bit of a leap.  Glad to have some inventory....
