I haven't tried it yet but everything I've read and heard about it makes it seem very average. It's only $45 CDN a bottle here in BC but I'd try before I buy for sure.

If you compare it to JW Black, which is a similar price point, it's pretty solid.  If you compare it to a decent entry-level single malt, it doesn't measure up at all. 

It's a decent scotch that you won't be mad if your friend decides to add ice or coca cola to it.
