Popular Post Islandboy Posted November 23, 2017 Popular Post Posted November 23, 2017 I always find the cold aroma of this cigar to be one of the finest, worthy of taking 5 minutes to just nose the stick, which usually ends with a healthy sneeze! Must be the plume Unfortunately, after clipping, the cold draw was quite tight. I dug through my tool chest and found just the thing - a set of ribbed pokers used to clean Oxy Acetylene torch tips, a remnant from a previous career as a heavy equipment mechanic. Several pokes later the draw was better, but still a bit tight. So be it. This one started out slow after lighting, with muddled flavors and some bitterness. But the burn was sharp. Some normalcy returned by the 2nd third, with the classic Epi 2 grassy cedar and sweet creaminess taking over. The draw remained a bit tight, and the blustery conditions didn’t help, as I tend to rely heavily on burning aroma for the full flavor experience - an element the Epi 2 really shines with. Still, quite nice at this point. Cinnamon joined the party in the final third, really rounding out the profile nicely. I even sensed I was eating some nicely spiced apple pie for a few puffs - quite fitting on Thanksgiving, eh? The burn remained mostly sharp, with the exception of one touch up needed following a perfect execution of the always pleasant jettisoning of the ash all over myself Overall, another good stick from this box. Not as vibrant in flavor compared to others, and the draw was.....a bit of a drawback. I give it an 89. Happy Thanksgiving 2017!! Aloha, Brad 7
