prodigy Posted July 7, 2017 Author Posted July 7, 2017 I still need to figure the exact size out. It's probably like 4x the size of a newair. I'll try and do some more research on the unit I have. The few searches I made didn't turn up much. I'm also going to call vinotemp to see if they have any info on my exact unit. Thanks for the tips so far, I'll definitely consider a staebel. prodigy Posted July 15, 2017 Author Posted July 15, 2017 Just wanted to share an update with my humidor. I bought a 3 pack of thermaltake computer fans that come with a controller. There are 2 speeds, silent mode, and they can change between 256 different colors. I bought a 1.5A 120v AC to 12v DC charging cord and rewired the fan controller to that. Now I have 3 fans that I will be strategically placing inside the humidor to help stabilize the swings in humidity! Pretty cool little project!Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk 2
BuzzArd Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Definitely cool. Just watch the heat from those fans.... I've found even the 12v fans raise the internal temp of a cabinet. I bought an intermittent switch for my Icebox Humidor build so I can have the fans come on for 5 minutes every hour and then shut off. Haven't had a chance to install it yet, but it should be sufficient to circulate humid air without really having an impact on the internal temp of the cab. Know yours is a temp contoled unit, but why make it work harder than it needs to...?

Not sure how I would measure the difference the cooling unit has to work now vs when the fans are in. The room temp is 70, and the humidor stays at 65-67, so it's not really working that hard as it is. A control module may be incorporated in the future, but for now I want to see my humidity swings come down. My high/lows right now are anywhere ranging from 55 low to 72 high.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk

And small..... The size of a quarter.
