kuma Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 I'm not a wine drinker so I am asking for some help from FOH members in choosing a Shiraz just to sip and enjoy. Were I live in the states (east coast, New England) one of my go to booze stores they have a couple of brands of Shiraz. They don't cost much and am hoping that is not a reflection in quality. 1. Koonunga Hill Shiriz Cabernet 2. Layer Cake Shiraz 3. Nine Stgnes Barossa Valley So if any members could shed some light on these three brands that would of some help. Thanks. PS I think the three brands are under $20.00 US a bottle.
kuma Posted November 24, 2016 Author Posted November 24, 2016 Sorry about the miss spelling sort of rushing this morning to get ready for US holiday "Thanksgiving" wife needs stuff for cooking! Thanhks again.
Blazer Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Layer cake not so good, Can't speak to the other two, but Shiraz/Syrah is a good choice for turkey. Pinot Noir and an oakey chardonnay are also nice pairings.
Fuzz AI Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Nothing wrong with the Penfolds Koonunga Hill. It's a nice, quaffable, easy drinking wine.
Hurltim Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Anything from the Barossa Valley. When I die, I want to be buried there. I absolutely love Australian Shiraz! 1
