Hi all.

Was reading (as a guest) a number of the topics re: winedors and decided to join up rather quickly.

I recently decided to start collecting/aging and realized that my 73 degree ambient temp upstairs in the house just wouldn't cut it for long term storage/aging.  My Diamond Crown Drake 160 was showing a consistent 73 degrees/68% RH and is packed with NC.

A few weeks ago I bought a NewAir 281E and set it up in my basement which has an ambient environment of 68 in the winter and 72 in the summer (with around 40% humidity as I'm running a de-humidifier all summer long).  So with a temp set at 64 degrees - the unit doesn't need to run much.  I'm using HF 65% beads along with a few of the cheaper Spanish Cedar pre-made trays.  I'm going to do some basic woodworking and cut them to size so they can slide in the grooves.  I bought a wireless temp/humidity sensor system that transmits to a internet hub and I can see up to 10 sensors via my computer or with an app.  The program is real cool as it lets you calibrate the humidity readouts plus it maintains a temp/humidity log for as long as you want.  I just received this system and am checking the calibration of the sensors with a large 75% Boveda packed with the sensors inside a tupperware container.

My stash consists of a number of 1's and 2'sies of various NC but my main collection is 7 boxes (of 10) of the Oliva Serie V Melanio - I've gone on a crazy buying spree every time they've been on sale and my pricing/stick has gone down from $11...to $8.80...to my last buy at $6.20 for 2 boxes of the Churchills. I'm done for now with them LOL.

I love the Melanio but I'm hoping better is waiting for me with CC - I have smoked some over time while traveling abroad - mostly MC#2.  I just ordered a few boxes of CC from 2 online sellers and they will be shipping out this coming week.  I ordered a 25 box Partagas Serie D #4; a 25 box Bolivar PC and 15 pieces MC#2 (5 x 3 pack) - BEFORE I came upon this site.  The 2 sellers have reasonable reviews and hopefully I'll get what I paid for...we shall see...

Looking forward to learning and sharing with my fellow brothers/sisters!
