schubb Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 After buying and smoking some of these, I’ve realized that such a thin ring gauge is simply not my preference. At 32 ring gauge, this cigar simply feels too delicate. 38 to 48 is my preferred range. Still, these are proving to be very flavorful. I would love to try the LGC MdO #2, as the dalias vitola may be my favorite of all. As always, my dog joins me outside for this review. Start 5:57pm Draw seems excellent, wrapper looks a little rough but nothing to complain about. I’ve noticed when looking through this box that the ring gauge doesn’t appear to be fully consistent between cigars. This one appears to be on the thinner side. 1st third: Starts out with a burst of a fruity, floral profile. Touch of nuts and cedar in the background. Just taking tiny sips on this to try to keep it from overheating and turning harsh. Ash does not hold on for very long, but I wasn’t expecting it to on this cigar. Bit under medium bodied at this point. 2nd third: Fruity floral profile continues into the middle of the cigar. Nuts and cedar become more prominent, with some coffee coming in as well. Coming close to medium bodied as the middle wraps up. Final third: Coffee, nuts, and a bit of remaining fruit. Youth just starting to show in the last half inch or so. Not too bad for a cigar that’s less than a year old. End 7:10pm Short review for a short cigar. I definitely enjoyed this. Just wish that it was a little thicker. I would love to try the #2 one day if they become available again. 3
subport Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 I like it a lot. The fruitiness and the mix it brings up. I like the format as well. The rg is just perfect for those slow mornings for me. Thanks for the review, well done
