Michealy Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 Is anyone else into cold drip coffee? Tried it recently whilst on holidays. Love it.
forgop Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 If it's not cold brew or my Oxo cone filtered hot coffee, I don't drink it. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
dicko Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 I tried some cold drip recently. It was advertised as full flavour with less acidity and it did taste smoother. Are there any good kits to make this at home?Sent from my SM-N910G using Tapatalk

Dicko, it's not difficult and no special equipment involved - I guess it's more steeping than brewing. Here's a link, scroll down to Mike's post for a link to instructions: http://www.friendsofhabanos.com/forum/topic/119149-iced-coffee-cubes/ I've been drinking cold brew as of late and also find it to be smoother. I'll get around to trying it myself. 1
LGC Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 Mix with cold water in a jar, place in fridge overnight, use a cheap cone filter from a drip maker.... no kits needed 2
saintsmokealot Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 It's been in my rotation for years and I have had one of these for years. https://www.amazon.com/Toddy-T2N-Cold-Brew-System/dp/B0006H0JVW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1472398986&sr=8-1&keywords=toddy+cold-brew If I didn't I would go with Brandon's idea. Just make sure you use a coarse grind. 1
LGC Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 You could probably find a cheap drip maker for 10 bucks at a thrift store. Also, coffee ground ratios aren't quite as crucial since tannins and acids aren't extracted nearly as much
Nrengle Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 Or if you have a French press, do the normal amount you would for hot, just use cold water set in the fridge for a few hours (min 4) and then you have some cold brew. Great stuff.
forgop Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 The Toddy is good, but i like this one a bit more for looks. https://www.amazon.com/OXO-Good-Grips-Coffee-Maker/dp/B00JVSVM36Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
