LukeC Posted April 18, 2016 Author Posted April 18, 2016 A lot of really awesome tips there everyone! Thanks so much! Meeting up with a BOTL this Saturday for a smoke, so I'm just gonna rest the tongue til then!
LukeC Posted April 18, 2016 Author Posted April 18, 2016 Cut back your cigar smoking to maybe 3 cigars a week. You will appreciate a cigar more and give your palate a chance to cleanse itself. That is so hard though! Why are these things so good!!!???!!!
LukeC Posted April 18, 2016 Author Posted April 18, 2016 Yep, get rid of those Ghurkas! Like I said, most are garbage. But the Yakuzas....oh my gosh.....amazing!!!
stogieluver Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Luke, two things you might also consider and both have already been alluded to. One, pairing a sweet drink with a CC is something you should try. I drink rum and diet coke exclusively when smoking cigars. Sweet tea is also good. Orange soda is a favorite with some. Secondly, you might need to slow down your smoking time. A robusto size cigar will take most experienced smokers anywhere from an hour fifteen to an hour and half to smoke. A petite corona, around an hour. A double corona or Churchill will take most people around 2 1/2 hours to smoke. Another factor if the cigar is burning unevenly and is harsh, it is either stored too wet or you're smoking it in a highly humid environment. This will ruin a good cigar, and will make your mouth taste like crap. 1

I have also found that a sweet drink like root beer or Pepsi (with rum) goes extremely well with most smokes.
MIKA27 Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Like I said, most are garbage. But the Yakuzas....oh my gosh.....amazing!!! Nothing wrong with NC's but in my experience, many are just pure powerhouses form the get go and if you're enjoying so many per day/week, you need a break and or enjoy something a little milder. The Olivas etc are a great cigar, I love them but maybe just ease back a little. 1
jwr0201 Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 I stick to Oliva, Rocky, Gurkha, Drew Estate Problem solved...drop the RP and Gurkhas and you will do a lot better! IMHO, most RP's and all Gurkhas are pretty nasty. Agree that CC's seem to be free of that realllly long zackly after taste. 1
