Hard to imagine a young cigar tasting and performing so well but boy have these done well! Enjoy.

Look and Feel:

Seams are very tight and veins are present but minimal. The wrapper has an oil sheen with a tobacco and slight earth aroma to it. Construction on this cigar looks awesome although some in the box had some green marks, most likely some water marks. Overall this cigar is in excellent condition and ready to be smoked.

Foot Third:

At first light you taste earth, walnut, and some white pepper. The finish is fairly long with aged tobacco, white pepper, and walnut notes. The draw is perfect and the flavors are well balanced. Milk chocolate comes in to join the other flavors and adds a nice subtle sweetness to the draw. The body of this cigar at this stage is medium and it is not very strong in nicotine.

Body Third:

The second third morphed into milk chocolate flavors with aged tobacco and light white pepper. The draw is great and the burn is solid. The aged tobacco has a slight charcoal note to it which is typical to Cuban cigars. Cream is becoming part of the profile which leaves this a relaxing and rewarding experience. The retrohale keeps the white pepper and earth present throughout this third. The flavor body is medium full and the strength is medium at most. The smoke output is fairly full but has a medium body to it, not super thick.

Head Third:
The last third transitioned into a coffee profile with aged tobacco and light cream. The pepper notes have come back a little more in this last third especially on the finish. The burn is straight but the draw gets a little hot toward the end but was cool until the last part of this third. The Walnut notes are almost gone and the chocolate notes are barely there. This last third was not as good as the rest of the cigar but did not disappoint.

Summary:

This was an amazing cigar and with only 20 months on them now, these will likely get better over the next two years. I enjoyed this cigar so much that I didn't want this to end and hope I can control myself and not smoke the box too quickly. Overall the three thirds all had different transitions and all were distinct and are well balanced. The smoothness of the chocolate, cream, and coffee kept you wanting more and I can't wait to smoke the next one. Pair this with a nice dark coffee or sweeter brandy and you'll have yourself a heavenly experience.

Good review! Can't argue with your findings. I love a good Edmundo in the morning with a cup of black coffee. Your examples are wonderfully colored, and look gorgeous. Iconic Montecristo.

Great review thanks for sharing. I smoked one last night as well. Mine was slightly over a year old. Very well constructed with an excellent burn all the way thru. Although still young very complex, I determined that this cigar is going to age really really well. They are down for at least a couple of years but really looking forward to what they become. I'm hoping I can forget about them.

I have to say when I cracked them open I expected good smokes but these "rocked my jocks"? As an ignorant American, I think I can use the expression that way...
