I will be travelling to montreal, this coming thursday, ive been many times before, but in the past, i smoked less than i do now and limited my smoking to while i was there, and the few cigars i did bring back i just removed the bands and put in my suitcase in a bag..

This go around, i want to explore more shops/lounges and try to find some tougher to find or regional smokes.. As well as take home a decent quantity. If anyone has any recommendations or where to go or what to try please let me know.

Also for the US citizens who drove over into quebec, considering id like to bring back atleast a few boxes would it be recommended to drive back with them, or ship them back to my self (seperatley) at the post office. Id like to increase my odds of getting them home as much as possible.

Anyone who can share there experiences would be much appreciated.

Buying boxes here will cost thousands of dollars. Prohibitively expensive and not worth it at all imo.

Canadian, Asia Pacific and some Lebanon regionals are available, but again, not cheap. There is a LCDH downtown that has a nice lounge, but you have to buy the cigars from them. Being summer, might be more enjoyable to smoke while walking around exploring. Stogies cigar bar has a very small outdoor area. Good for people watching Thursday, Friday, Saturday nights. Bring your own cigar, or buy from them.

I strongly suggest NOT buying multiple boxes here and trying to cross the border. It's illegal, risky and an expensive gamble for no reason.

Run a search, lots of information...

Thanks for the info, i will definatley be visiting LCDH as well as stogies.. Ill be staying at le saint sulpice in old montreal (my favorite hotel for many years) and we have a nice terrace, so i will be enjoying many smokes in the comfort of my own room as well.. I will be there for 5 nights

I am aware of the exorbitant costs of tobacco over there (eventhough current exchange rate helps me a bit), and i know there is always risk associated, and ideally my plan is to get some nice regional/LE/aged stock and enjoy it over the 5 days of being there, but knowing my self, im going to want to take something back. If not multiple boxes, at the very least a box worth of items i cant get elsewhere, i am thinking it may be smarter to ship rather than cross with (which seems more risky). I definatley dont plan on going there and stocking up on staples, but would be nice to get a few of each of some special sticks
