davidmanning Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Given that the weather outside is, well, not conducive to smoking a cigar, and that there are few places in town where one can smoke a cigar indoors (this includes the apartment), my wife hit upon a wonderful idea - bring a cigar for the three-mile walk to work this morning! If I'm already forced to be outside, might as well enjoy it. Maybe 9 AM is a bit early to be enjoying a good smoke, but the logic was too airtight. An hour and a Bolivar Petit Corona later, the time had flown by and I was happily at work, having had my exercise for the day. Of course, I have to do it in reverse tonight. Good thing I packed more.

genevapics Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Are you on the island or do you get to walk across one of those fabulous bridges? Sometimes things work in mysterious ways. Hope the weather holds (i.e. no rain/sleet) for your walk to/from work. Sounds like a nice way to get to and from work. Once the MTA gets back on track, you may want to think about walking in the spring/fall. Enjoy my NYC brother.
davidmanning Posted December 21, 2005 Author Posted December 21, 2005 Fortunately, it's all island walking. The weather should hold tomorrow, then the TWU will hopefully get their collective arse handed to them in negotiations while I'm in the south for Xmas. Many cigars on the back deck! Now that I've done the walk in 25-degree (-4 C) weather, I think I'll be doing it when the weather improves. The humidor is nearly overflowing! » Are you on the island or do you get to walk across one of those fabulous » bridges? Sometimes things work in mysterious ways. habanohal Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 My brother just came in from NY. He lives right by MTV studios. He tells us that It cost retailers over $1 billion each day of the strike
