My Black Label Dictator lighter has packed it in (after only 18 months of use) and I'd like to get it repaired

I can send it back to the US but if there was an Australian service agent who could repair it I'd rather go local.

Its out of Warrenty (they only come with 12 months) so I'll be paying for it out of my own pocket

I just ordered a Colibri Astoria lighter from the US, similar price point to the Black Label Lotus Dictator and I couldn't even find the recommended 'Colibri Premium Butane' in Sydney, I sure as hell hope that it doesn't pack it in after only 18 months as I cannot imagine there'd be a local servicing agent (hopefully I am wrong?/hopefully I don't need one).

Part of the reason we buy products at this price point is so that we don't have these crappy mechanical issues... *fume* tantrum.gif

Good luck with it mate.

No agents that i am aware of mate. (99.9% certain).

If less than $100 then I would just buy a new lighter or trade for a new one in the Trading room. Freight to the US both ways will sting you near $40 + repair costs + conservative 3 month wait.

Thanks mate

If you head to your local smoke mart and look for Newport Butane (White Can) and use that you should be fine

Its the most pure butane you can source (easily) in Aus. I use it in all my lighters

The ignition button on the front of my lighter has had the seals fail and now butane just leaks out through the button. It worked flawlessly until then, I miss using it

When I orginally bought it I assumed it have a lifetime warrenty. Its only when it **** itself I checked the fine print to find they only have a limited warrenty

Thanks Prez

Yeah, Paid $120 for it in NYC.

Could Prob find a replacement for less than that but thought I'd try to re-use rather than replace

In my experience, even under warranty they will just replace them (they may take a cursory look).

A $120 Lighter (I see them on the web at $90 USD with a quick search. on sale you should find one well below that). is a $20-$25 USD cost item. No money in repairs. Cheaper to replace if under warranty.

A fair point

Looks like I'm going lighter shopping in the new year
