Colt45 Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 As a kid, a huge fan. Don't ask me why, for the past few weeks, I've been listening to / watching his stuff with Ozzy and Quiet Riot. Listening to Dee - hair stands up on the back of my neck..... Sometimes the brightest lights are snuffed out before they should be. 3
leftimatic Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Funny just watching a show about Ozzy and remembering how awesome Blizzard of Oz was. Yah real shame the guy was awesome. Died way to young.
Habanos2000 Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 I remember when Blizzard came out and still have the original cassette in my collection. To this day I'm still a huge fan and listen regularly to CD's of bootlegged Ozzy concerts from the Blizzard/Diary tours. Randy's best live/professionally recorded performance, IMO, is the King Biscuit Flower Hour, recorded in Montreal in July of 81. I was happy to be able to download the audio a few years back. His playing blows the Tribute recording out of the water! Simply amazing even to this day. While I love the composition and playing of his own music, the Quiet Riot stuff not so much, you just have to hear his rendition of Paranoid from the KBFH show, simply unreal!
Colt45 Posted September 7, 2014 Author Posted September 7, 2014 Yeah, he tore this one up, and the overall sound is huge. I've read he didn't like having to play Sabbath covers, but I guess you wouldn't know it. If you haven't seen them already, google ozzy osbourne after hours tv - there are a few clips of them live in a studio during the Blizzard tour.
