What do you mean by spice?

Most use the term. but I was wondering how everyone describes the taste.

Normally, for me, it's a tingly sensation on the tongue and or throat. But the spice I associate with Cubans is a bit different.....

It's more of a mouth-watering, sweet and sour sensation, which I love.

I guess it all depends on ones personal tastes , for me spice is the flavors associated with black or white pepper. Spice tends to be prevalent in the Partagas line. But I do agree that spice can be paired with sweet. My favorite pairing is spice and earth. I love an earthy-spicey cigar.

Salt

Pepper

Hot Paprica

Cumin

Sweet Spices:

clove

Chinese 5 spice

cinnamon

nutmeg

Saffron

Sweet Paprika

When I read someone describing a cigar a spicy the first thing I think of is jalapeno spice.

Personally I can tase hot/peppery spice as well as sweet spice.
