ptrthgr8 Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 If your boys choke and lose in the first round it will be more shameful than the most shameful thing you can imagine. But the Bruins sure do look strong. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk

marper331 Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Looking forward to the playoffs! Not sure they will dominate the last few rounds like they did last year when they bounced the penguins in 4 and the rangers in 5 but I'm sure they will be competitive.
Jimmy2 Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 When the playoffs come regular season records mean nothing ! Let's Go RANGERS !! LoL
JHands Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 When the playoffs come regular season records mean nothing ! Let's Go RANGERS !! LoLTell that to the guys coming into Boston's building, hearing the drunken roar of the crowd, and knowing that these guys are the best team in hockey. Hoping they can pull off the pres trophy. St. Louis is just as strong though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
ogus Posted April 9, 2014 Author Posted April 9, 2014 Drunken before game start, that sounds about right
Philprop Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 If I were a bruins fan I would want them to concede the last few games as to not win the Presidents trophy. I think the team that has won it has only gone past the first round something like twice in the last 9 years or so. Bruins have been great this year, so have St. Louis which is nice to see a different team from the west take top spot. I just hate the new playoff format with the wild card system. Trying to be too much like the NFL and MLB. They should have left it the same only eliminated the conference playoffs. It should have gone 1st in the west plays 8th in the east and so forth and so son. Anyway, cannot wait for playoffs, looks like my team will have the pleasure of knocking out those whiney Habs in the first round! Tampa Bay all the way baby!!!
SaintLuis Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 ^ Hawks won it last year, and won the cup. The Presidents Trophy curse isn't a curse. It's just that those teams usually are pretty well beat up at the end of the season. Even though history hasn't treated the trophy holders well, I'd take home ice advantage anyday. I think the B's have a shot this year, as the West will grind itself up nicely, and the B's are relatively healthy. If they can get McQuaid back, they'll be a pretty formidable team, and should at least make the Conference Finals. Once you're at the final four in this league though, it starts becoming more of a lottery than a test of the best. Its like that in a lot of sports.

Hawks did it but last year will have an asterix by it forever due to the lockout and half season. I'd like to think that had it been a full season things would have turned out differently.
ptrthgr8 Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Only need one more point and it will be 23 consecutive post season appearances. I think the boys can manage that. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk

ptrthgr8 Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 As if Boston cared. And the Jets are already polishing their golf clubs. So... Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk

ptrthgr8 Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 I love when guys boast about the regular season!! Hardly anything wrong with that. It's certainly true that the post-season is the most important, but you have to do well in the regular season to get there. If those regular season games didn't matter, they wouldn't be played. Also, as far as records and such go, most of those stats are collected during the regular season. So... yeah... regular season matters.
