Natedog Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 This is a dumb question but it's not the first nor the last. If you put an equal amount of boveda pacs in your humi but half are 75% rh and the other half are 69% rh, what happens? Who wins? Will my humidor explode? Sorry my mind is full of useless thoughts but curious what you guys and gals thought about this. By the way this is a rhetorical question. I'm not planning on doing this....unless there is good reason. Is there a good reason? Haha.
DrunkenMonkey Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 The 69% packs will absorb humidity until they're full, and if there's still enough water left in the 75% packs, the humidity will stabilize at 75%.
srbbones Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 the pi mesons from the 69% will interact with the mu particles from the 75%, making a black hole. Don't do it!
oliverdst Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 I think you will have a hard dried pack (the 75%) and one almost exploding totally full (69%). Nothing at 62%. I use Boveda and will do that experiment. It takes weeks/months to stabilize so don't expect a faster answer but I guess some other BOTL already have done that and will let us know.
Natedog Posted October 17, 2013 Author Posted October 17, 2013 I was worried about time travel, black holes and wormholes also.
polarbear Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 I've done this before I didnt have enough65% packs for one of my humis so i just threw in a couple of the smaller 72% packs with a larger 65% pack Came home a few weeks later and found abig fat 65% pack and 2 Waffer thin and dry 72% packs The 72% packs were so dry they couldnt be recharged
