Can you take Cuban cigars to The Dominican?

Making a trip to the Dominican this month. Just curious to know if there's any issues with bringing cuban cigars into the country?

Absolutely! Why not?? It's actually quite a treat usually for vendor and roller friends in Cuba to receive nicer non-Cuban cigars. It lets them sample some product that they can't really get otherwise, and it allows them to taste what the rest of the world is doing when it comes to cigars.
