dB69 Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Partagas Charlottes, UTCDDE (March 1999, Camajuani factory in Villa Clara province). There are quite many vintage cigar reviews in the competition and I decided to go with the flow. I picked a cigar which made me like the cigar smell back in the 70's when I was very young. Music: Milt Jackson's Sunflower (twice). Drink: Coke. Cigar weight 5.58g. Very tight construction. Fine smooth colorado wrapper which smells like it should, aged tobacco. Cutting with scissors. Perfect firm draw. Sweet aged tobacco as cold draw taste. First ash: Sweet and slightly nutty tobacco. The basic flavour is not miraculous, but it is definitely wonderful. A fine smoked aspect in the flavour. White pepper is sliding in. Very rich tobacco. Body medium, flavour medium to full. Pepper is getting stronger and there's also some toffee and cherry coming in. Toasted tobacco and pepper with cherry notes. Heavenly. Second ash: The "purple" cherry turns to "yellow" toffee and the amount of pepper is decreasing. The overall flavour mellows. Very nice ginger scent on the burning wrapper. Delicious toasted tobacco for a long time, a "brown" taste. Body still medium and flavour medium to full. Some sweet candy rambles on the background. Third ash: Delicious and smooth toasted tobacco. I feel very relaxed at the moment. Fine tarry aromas with a hint of burning wood. Slight saltiness. Body remains medium and flavour medium to full. Hints of toffee. Some black pepper. Toasted bread. I'm burning my fingers... An excellent cigar! Straight burning from the start to the very end. Nice mellow toasted tobacco aftertaste with a hint of smoked feeling which stays for a half an hour. What else could I say? Thank you HSA for deleting this wonderful cigar among the other masterpieces. DOH!

Smiley Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I just got my hands on a box of 25 with the same boxcode and I couldn't agree more with your review! In my opinion it is quite different from any other Partagas I've smoked from the current lineup.
