ajgagnon Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Just had a cigar... tried two in fact... from a small humidor that lost humidity. First was a Cohiba Esplendido... one of the few I have that might actually be real. Second was from a cab of PL Petit Corona, which I know are genuine. First had a strange flavour and little smoke. After three quarters of an inch I snipped off two inches and went to re-light and then decided to switch to the PLPC for something reliable, and it came off with similar strange tastes and an unusually easy draw. Yikes! I have re-hydrated the 4 humidification devices (green foam enclosed in plastic grid; two of which are 2.5 x 6). I'll keep them topped up and wait a month or two and see how they fare. Damn! Take this as a reminder... everyone go check your humidity, especially in small humidors. Ugh.
rckymtn22 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Dump the green foam and get some beads. Super reliable, hardly have to add water to them.
