Guest robusto101 Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 This afternoon I smoked my first Cohiba Siglo VI. For starters, it was not a czar cigar but I have little doubt that it was authentic. I could be wrong but nonetheless... Anyway, I'm not great at identifying flavors but is there a "typical" Cohiba flavor (or at least for this vitola) present that most of you identify with? I felt like the cigar was mostly grass and some possible creaminess but it was overwhelmingly smooth. I mean, out of this world smooth to the point that I was in shock at how velvety it felt (this is why I don't question its authenticity). The draw was superbly perfect and it managed to burn quite well until I tipped the ash of the end at which point I would gently relight it. Even though I did relight it a few times, there was never a moment of harshness at all. I smoked it down to the band and every puff was smooth, smooth, smooth. My only issue is that I didn't necessarily derive a whole lot of flavor from this. I guess I'm wondering from those experienced in Sig VI smokes if this is common. From the first few puffs I knew it was going to be an enjoyable smoke based on how well it drew and the smoothness so I wasn't too concerned by the flavor. But still curious about what I discerned to be ordinary in terms of flavor. I bought it as a three pack (tubo version) so I have no clue about the date on this but I'm willing to buy more simply because of how graceful this smoke was. I did wish the flavor had a bit more depth but it was probably one of the most satisfying smokes I've had in my very limited cuban cigar smoking experience. Pretty pricey, so I won't be smoking these often but very satisfying.
Guest robusto101 Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Thanks for your input, Shlomo. I'd love to buy a box of these and let them mellow out. They are mighty pricey though. But I'd love to find out how they smoke in several years. Talk about patience, though, Tough business waiting that long.
Guest rob Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 This thread makes me want to light one tonight. Had a BBF today but that didn't quite satisfy.
