IcedCanuck Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 I was in Anaheim for a week and I am glad to be home! Flew American Airlines for the first time on the way back and it was the absolute WORST flying experience of my life! It was hands down the dirtiest aircraft I have ever stepped foot on and I had an 'incident' with one of the flight attendants. I could go on and on about how terrible it is and all the problems encountered but it would end up being a rather lengthy rant so suffice to say I will never fly on that airline ever again. Going to Disney did not interest me (I was there when I was a kid) and other than that there really is not a whole hell of a lot to do in that city. I ended up smoking cigars like they were going out of style during my free time to just help occupy my time ... that and mess around with the Windows 8 prototype tablet Microsoft gave me along with all the developer tools for their new 'Metro' style (I had nothing to do with their new naming convention)
DblToro Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Wow, I knew you were coming down here, but forgot when. I am 20 mins away and would have taken you somewhere and abouts. Sorry about that, Andre
aes8 Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 That's why I call it the "Old C" and not the "OC"
Lastroll Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 I live 8 miles from Anaslime. I would have taken you Marlin fishing in the channel if I knew you were here (we trolled for 2 days and only brought one to the leader but it was great weather). My B&M is 9 miles away and it has a 1200 SQ ft humidor. Next time let me know... OC has some nice areas. Clean, unlike LA. aes9, your avatar looks like Anthony Bourdain from "no reservations" on the food network? LOL Is that you?

khomeinist Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Anaheim is an abomination. I am from Santa Barbara, thus I am a boss....
IcedCanuck Posted September 23, 2011 Author Posted September 23, 2011 Forgot to mention that when I finally made it to Anaheim I noticed the zippers on my bag were not where I left them (I am very anal about the state I leave things in ... mess with my stuff and I know). I opened the bag and found a card left by US customs saying that all bags are fair game to what they call 'random' opening or something like that. Considering this happens to me more times than not I don't believe for a second there is anything random about it but that's another story in itself. But it reminded me of a conversation I had with my g/f while packing the night before. She noticed me taking the bands off my cigars prior to putting them in my cigar caddy ... good thing I did as well or I could have ended up with no cigars by the time I made it to Anaheim.

cottierm Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Now that you are mentioning it, I shall strive to remember to do the same (removing the bands) for my next visit to our southern neighbours. brazoseagle Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 American Airlines has gone downhill bad!
sg1234 Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 ...other than that there really is not a whole hell of a lot to do in that county. Fixed for you.

Len Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 You guys should look up 888 Diamond Crowne Lounge. I've been going since the Red Cloud days 10 years ago. Great place.
