BHK54 Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 I recently passed through Dubai's airport. In Duty Free I noticed a regional Punch Robustos Emiratos ... very interesting find for me. Has anybody tried some different ones or got their hands on them ?
sblevit Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 Yes, I have a box from the very same store and they are terrible. They are strong and harsh and taste like you are smoking an ash tray. I'm hopeful that in a few years they will develop into something smokeable.
Chaki Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 I smoked 2 and one of my friends smoked a couple also. We liked them. His comment was that they are different from the Punch Robusto ER Switzerland. The Emirato is not a powerhouse but it is quite aromatic, very enjoyable. Hope this helps
almudawi Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 I have a box of those setting at the back of my cabinet.. I agree with UBC, they were horrible when they first came out.. I was ate disappointed, especially with it being the 1st regional for the Gulf region. However, they have been improving lately (85-86), last time I had them was last summer during the world cup, I think I am due another one soon.. All in all, There are better REs out there to be honest. And if I wasnt from the region I wouldn't have gone for it. Also, I don't think that it would become a 90 cigar. So save your money bro and buy a box of Por Larranaga REs or Ramon Allones REs.. These 2 marcas seems to be the safest bet when it comes to regionals
