rahko Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Opens with cream and cedar with beany notes, some white pepper, surprising richness and thick mouthfeel. 1/3 predominately woody with some coffee beans and white pepper, and I'm already thinking that EVERY marca should have this size! ERDM has never been a personal favorite, but this is spectacular! Why is there no Partagas or PL demi tasse? Bolivar used to have one? I need to get those. Copious amount of smoke from such a thin cigar. 2/3 turns dark! The beans are now roasted and the wood charred. And then another turn into thick, buttery creaminess. I got one of these just for laughs, not expecting anything, and certainly not this level of exellence! Not laughing anymore, but grinning quite widely. Last third cream subcedes and spice increases. Yet another taste emerges, theres now some rum in the mix. How is this even possible from what can't be more than few grams of leaf. There's no bullshit, just amazing taste and constant developement from the very beginning. Still going strong as im about to get burned. One of the best cigars I've had all year.
Charltonc Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 I had a Choix from 07 and it was delicious I need to get some more of those. I would like to try these. What size are these, minuto?
asmith Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Great review, I will also go as far as to say that is the shortest cigar ever reviewed on FoH.
MontrealRon Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Thanks for this great review! A couple of years ago, I bought three boxes of 1990's, which I am still smoking. Totally amazing for something so tiny. Rich, full of flavor, and really complex. Great for a late night smoke, or just before a good dinner, as they seem to stimulate the palate. Good to know that they are so good young as well, so I can get some to space out the aged ones, which are showing potential for even further devolopment!

Short panatela, 30 x 3 7/8" Good to hear others have had similar experiences, so this wasn't just a one-off.
