partagasd4 Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Bolivar #2 Tubos Review Here is my contribution to the Petit Coronas weekend. The Bolivar #2 is the first Cuban cigar I smoked, so it's a special one to me. It's always reliable for a good, inexpensive smoke. Stats: Length: 129 mm Ring: 42 Hand made Marevas Petit Corona Paired with water Construction: Slightly veiny, but otherwise very good. Some bloom and nice oily feel. First thoughts: Aroma - very light tobacco scent Pre Draw - Good, slightly tight draw. Fruity flavours. First Third: Lots of flavour, peppery then creamy coffee Second Third: Great spicy tobacco flavour Last Third: Lacking flavour now, light tobacco, slightly papery Afterthoughts: Pleasant fruity tobacco aftertaste. I smoked this cigar only a few hours after buying it, so I think that contributed to the lack of flavour in the last third. Overall, not the best #2 I smoked, but I would still rate it an 80 and it is one of my favourite inexpensive cigars. The Czar's Review: "One of my favourite petit corona's. Rich dark chocolate and espresso coffee notes. The aluminium tube tends to foster some bloom on the wrapper which is indicative of the cigars oily nature."
