dicko Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Hello, This might be a silly question but does anyone think there is a difference between the quality of the 15ct box and the 25 ct box ?? Any preferences? Any help would be great. Cheers, Dicko
rckymtn22 Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 I am guessing that the 15ct box is a 3 X 5 package. Each cigar is in a cardboard box packaged all together. There shouldn't be much difference if any in the quality of the cigars, just not the same appeal as a wooden box.
dicko Posted June 13, 2010 Author Posted June 13, 2010 I did not know there was a 15ct box I think you are right and I have, indeed, asked a silly question. Probably just means they would be packed in 5x 3 packs of singles. no box. too much coffee, procrastination from exam study has reached the heightened level of beginning silly topics online haha!

I figured it out basically as soon as I posted Thanks for the reply though!
bassman Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Avoid aged cardboard packs. Cigars can taste like the cardboard. Made that mistake with a 5X5 of 02 Siglo Vs. Never again.

Same thing happened to me, now I only keep them in wood. It's bad enough when cigars taste like cardboard on their own, but worse when you age them to be that way.
Colt45 Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 I think you are right and I have, indeed, asked a silly question. Not at all I figured 3 pack x 5 but didn't want to assume. As to your question, there really shouldn't be a difference in quality between the cardboard pack and SLB. I believe there was a time when they might package "uglier" cigars in packs and tubes, but it's my understanding that these days it's no longer the practice - of course, I can't know it as fact.
dicko Posted June 13, 2010 Author Posted June 13, 2010 thats good to hear. I figure its a good way to get a little economy of scale going without springing for a whole box. thanks for the replies Colt.
Cambridge1 Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 I won't buy cardboard packs anymore because they don't ship well. They always arrive crushed.

El Presidente Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 no one checks cardboard packs. A good rule is that if the date code is more than 12 months old...leave them where they are. Have really improved in quality in 2009.

Have really improved in quality in 2009. That's interesting, thanks for the vendor's prespective. I'm springing for a box if the packs won' be checked.
