Laxman Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Hi all, just got a new wine cooler in and have read a few of the threads. Some great info in there. I am confused about whether or not to plug the drainage hole or not to plug it? Any feedback would be great! Thanks!
Guest rob Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 I plug it. The only reason you woulnd't is if you've got excessive condensation, which would not be ideal at all. The reason I plug is to seal the environment, like a good humidor is supposed to.
Colt45 Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 There are a number of great threads in the Humidor Tutorial Forum, if you care to give them a look.
thechenman Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 All of the wineadors I've seen have the drainage hole plugged.
Laxman Posted May 21, 2010 Author Posted May 21, 2010 Thanks guys for the insight. What do I plug it with? I am not the handiest guy. Also I see on threads guys have fans, I have a few of those oust fans( but they do not seem to give off much air). The fans look like cpu fans but I have no idea how to set that up. Any other ideas?
Laxman Posted May 22, 2010 Author Posted May 22, 2010 Thanks, my wine cooler arrived two days ago, washed it out, let it sit out for two days to air. I found a New Air thermoelectric wine cooler online for around 180 shipped, 28 bottle. So was all excited today to hook it up and put my beads in! First I had to screw the handle on to the front door. As I am tightening the screw I hear a crack!!! The glass all shatters lol, I can not believe it, luckily there was a protective film on the outer door glass and the inner seems to be a Plexiglas. But have to say it was a bummer!! Pretty sure I can still use, guess at least any sunlight will not get in!!!
