  1. Had an awesome Thanksgiving holiday with the family. Smaller crowd from years past, as the kids grow up and move on to spend holidays with their new fiancées and future families. Had tons of leftovers (enough to feed a small army). Still working our way through the leftover desserts. My favorite homemade Ghirardelli chocolate pie: And a close second, homemade pumpkin pie: Today we headed back to my mother-in-law’s house to clean the leaves out of her gutter, before a chance of rain and snow tomorrow! My first ever review was a few weeks back when I cleaned out my own gutters. Figured I should make a second review while cleaning hers! I’ve had a pair of Nub Habanos and Nub Maduros resting for a couple months. I’ve been intrigued by their great reviews, so I’ve been anxious to give one a try. For today, I went with the Nub Habano 358. Stubby little stick at 3 3/4” x 58. Went with a V-cut. Cold draw was pretty easy and rich tasting. After first light, I was amazed by the instant flavor and richness that overwhelmed my senses. It tasted like I’d gotten into the 2/3 sweet spot but I’d only just lit it. Very sweet rich tobacco taste and smells. Loved the aroma coming off the cigar. It wasn’t very smoky at first, but it was fairly windy outside. Once it got an inch in, the smoke was rolling. The stick is so short I can’t really review in thirds. The taste didn’t change much over the course of the smoke. It was excellent the whole time. My son, who was helping out again, commented on how good the cigar smelled. His words were “sometimes your cigars stink, but that one smells really good.” As was the case with my last cleanout and review, I had to manhandle this cigar a bit as we worked around the house, dragging the ladder, leaf blower, extension cord, etc. The burn was a bit jagged but was due to the wind and my neglect. Only a single relight was required when I became distracted for too long between draws. The Nicaraguan binder and filler really complimented the Habano-seed Nicaraguan wrapper. The Nub’s sweet richness and medium-full body was a huge surprise to me. I was highly impressed and can’t wait to try the maduro!
