  1. Have the Behikes began another year of production? It seems like they were fired up on beginning this new Cohiba line, then produced the limited amount in year 1 only. Have they began distributing again? The Cubans seem to have great intentions with every unveiling, but then have terrible follow-up. Was this a once or twice production, with no plans on continuing?
  2. Well these guys finally responded to my numerous emails to ask if I ever sent a wire. I sent the wire over a month ago like I told them I would. I sked them to hold 2 boxes for me, asked for wiring instructions, then sent the wire. All within the same hour. Now that I told them the wire was sent, they went into stealth mode again. I cant get sny reponse from them. I hate to report that these guys/gals are scammers! We are going on 6 weeks now. I rec'd 5-6 emails before I ordered just to tell me the payment procedure, then NOT ONE email again after I sent the money. Actually I rec'd one email since the wire was sent, and that was asking if I sent the wire (over a month afterward.)
  3. I will keep everyone updated. Since my wire was received, I never heard another thing from them. Both of their email mailboxes filled up. I have my Iphone set to Croatia time and Im going to call them in their daytime. I am interested to see what they have to say face to face! I'll report back to this group tomorrow. Greg
  4. Actually the two adresses the company provided are all coming back (returned) as "full." This has been happening for over a week. Be careful dealing with these people.
  5. I emailed an inquiry to the distributor listed under this posting, and received an email back stating I would have to wire the money to purchase 2 boxes of these. This was a couple weeks ago. They stated it was illegal to sell online, so that is why they don't have a site. Once the money was wired a couple weeks ago, I have received nothing back. No cigars, no emails, nada! I am now wondering if this distributor has turned scammer?
  6. Thanks for the help. I did change the batteries, and still same problem. I calibrate, then the whole number changes within a day or two. I give up on the digitals. I will stick with my analog and beads.
  7. I have never had luck with digital hygrometers up here in Alaska. I use analog ones with synthtic hair (made in Italy) that have been dead on. I recently decided to try out this Xikar digital one, and see how it worked out. I set it at 75% in the salt procedure, and let it sit for 24 hours inside the baggie. I again set the meter at 75%. I took it out, and immediately placed it in humidor after humidor, and get readings anywhere from 50-56%. All of my other hygrometers show the humidity at 65%, including electronic hygrometers. There is no debate that the humidity is 65% in my humidifiers. I even took the Xikar out, and put it back in the salt baggie. I ended up with a reading way below 75%. Does anyone know what might be going on? Why do they readings always drop below the actual humidity? Even taking it out for an hour seems to drop the future readings forever. The only way i can get an accurate reading it to leave in in the salt baggie for 24 hours and hit the reset button. Once it is removed, it will never show 75% again!
  8. Anything over $1000 is a risk IMO. There is just enough incentive at that price to make quality counterfeits. Imagine how well conterfeits could be made over 20K! I could make counterfeit diplomatic cigars taken from Clinton's desk still wet from monika lewenski for that much!
  9. That is kind of what I was thinking. he might even laugh at that price. I guess nothing would surprise me. Actaully, 6-7 grand would surpirse me. $100,000 would not!
  10. I think my worst nightmare would be to walk in, offer him a price, and have him immediately say "I'll take it!". LOL
  11. There is no way (IMO) that 6-7 grand would even come close. I think the original Cohibas are in the 20-40k range, aren't they? Am I missing something? I was thinking at least over 40k for the diplomatic ones? Am I way off?
  12. Anyone have any idea about the price range this guy is talking about when he states "making an offer?"
  13. I was fortunate enough to watch Eliades Ochoa play in Habana.
  14. Rob: I was just watching some youtube videos of the Festival, and see most people that attend wear suits, and/or really deck out! No way am I going all the way to cuba to waer a suit! If I just plan to attend the conferences, and not any of the dinners, can I go casual?
  15. I would love to meet up with cigar smokers while down there. Is the casa in Vedado o Miramar? I have rented the same casa on 17 for years, but this year can not. I am not sure where I will end up this year, but hopefully in Vedado. Please keep me in the loop.
  16. Just curious how you try just one? Do you get to try these because you are a distributor? I doubt they sell these individually, do they?
  17. The only time I really don't smoke cigars is when I am in Habana. Strange, huh? I feel bad smoking a month's wages in front of the people. Although I took up the habit while on a trip there (a Cohiba V), but have rarely smoked while in Cuba. I do look forward to smoking much more at the Habanos Festival this year! Maybe I'll pass on these particular cigars. I haven't seen much on reviews (in fact, none!)
  18. I see the new San Cristobal O'Reilys came out at the end of last year. Has anyone tried these yet? They are way expensive, but I am curious if they are any good. I usually like San Cristobals, but these are on the very high end.
  19. Are you looking for a wireless transmitter? I am looking for a wireless model number of one from Oregon Scientific, if anyone has any suggestions.
  20. It can get out of control really fast watching everyone's feedback on their favorite cigars. I would bet the mean rating on almost every post on every cigar is great! I end up buying 4-5 boxes every time! Does anyone recommend an Oregon Scientific wireless I can throw in the cooler? I see they offer many types. I just want one I can throw in the cooler, tuck the cooler way back in an unaccessable closet, and forget about it. Cigarmony does not sell these.
  21. Well I would need a remote Hygro, since the cooler is going to the back of a deep closet. I did buy the beads. An analog that I use (I have 4 of these) that is dead on is from Italy, and is named "Adorini." These are the best analogs I have ever used. I would only use a digital if it were wireless. Thanks again for everyone's help. I bought the cooler, bought the beads, and have already moved enough boxes of cigars in the cooler to fill all 94 gallons. I need another, then will have some breathing room in my humidors.
  22. None of the digital hygrometers I have found can be calibrated. I have just used the ones from cigar sites. They have never worked for me. I could write down that 56% on the digital means 70% in the humidor, but I don't trust small changes on these digitals. The "high quality" digital I put in my humidor last week (after this post) shows 56%, next to an accurate analog showing 70%!
  23. Thanks for everyone's help! I bought the cooler, ordered the beads, and now just need to find the hygrometer. That has always been the challenge for me. I have only had sucess with analog ones. Digital are off by nearly 10-20% here in Alaska for some reason! I just threw a digintal into my deshtop humidor last night for the fun of it, and it is off 17%. That is WAY too much. I must have a drawere full of bad digitals. Thanks to all, and Happy New Year!
  24. I see that lots of beads claim that you do not need to add anything. Do you recommend adding Glycerol to them?
  25. Ok, does anyone have any sources for RE Cubans? Just kidding. Does anyone have sources for a good, high quality wireless hygro? Maybe one designed specifically for cigars? I once tried the "Cigar Caddy", or the 'Cigar Buddy", or something like that, and it never came close!
