  1. KB, I have the same problem PLUS. I have to add a full reservoir of water every 7 to 10 days in the dry season (I live in Rhode Island). In addition, I have to remove the water reservoir and use a desicant like Dry Rid in the humid season or the humidity will rise to 80-85%. I have about 1.5lbs of 65% humidity beads (Heartfelt) in the humidor at all times, but it doesn't seem to "temper" the swings. I have conferred with Bob at Aristocrat multiple times. I have checked for air leaks and replaced the door twice and made sure the door seal in tight! Since the humidor is so beautifully crafted, I have decided to live with the humidity problems. The real downside is if I plan a trip of longer than 1 week in the humid or dry season.
  2. This is me with a Boli RC at the Atlantis Resort in Nassau on our 25th wedding anniversary this Spring. Life is good.
  3. I'll bet Monica is glad Bill didn't have one of those....

  5. FOH Newbie enjoying one of El Presidente's Siglo IIs on the island of Ischia.
  6. Your unashamed Rhode Island conservative host, friend and fellow Martini lover welcomes you to FOH. You'll find some great people here who enjoy good-natured ribbing and lots of talk of Habanos. Enjoy. :-) :-) ;-)
  7. Just leaving for a 2 hour drive to the designated family Christmas site (alas, no cigar smokers there), but wanted to wish Rob, Lisa and the entire Czar extended family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!
  8. Hi all: I thought you might be interested in a brand new product I just purchased and received. It's the first DOT approved container for transporting a butane or oil lighter (that means torches, too!) legally in your checked baggage. I'm not sure if it's approved for flights outside of the U.S. It is called the Colibri "Tranzpack", and is available for $14.95 at [link=www.cigarsinternational.com ]www.cigarsinternational[/link] It's a high impact yellow plastic cylinder measuring 6 inches in length and 2.5 inches in diameter. You unscrew it to place your lighter/torch in the foam interior insert. I can post photos if anyone is interested.
  9. Best Mate: Trinidad Fundadores Moocher: The cigar Bill Clinton "used" on Monica Lewinsky :-P
  10. HU Magnum 46 HDM Le Hoyo de Dieux Trini Reyes Trini Coloniales Boli Royal Corona .....then I can face going back to work Monday morning.
  11. Yesterday, I fired up a Bolivar PC (after carefully following SMK819's advice to not smoke it with my morning coffee). In addition to enjoying it immensely, I was stunned by the volume of smoke it produced; a veritable Mount St. Helens! This brought back a nagging question I have had since I smoked my first cigar a couple of years ago: Why does the volume of smoke vary so drastically from cigar to cigar? When I light up a Punch Punch, I enjoy it very much as well, but I have to keep checking if it's lit or not, since I need a magnifying glass to see the smoke. In my beginner's research, I cannot relate smoke volume to brand, ring gauge, strength, humidification level or moon phase! I would love to hear thoughts and theories from the experts at FOH.
  12. Currently, 2-4 cigars per week (soon to change when my smoking room, "Sala Cubana", is finished). Upper body exercise only: shifting 6 speed transmission, muddling mint leaves for Mojito, opening and closing humidor. ;-)
  13. HDM Le Hoyo des Dieux Trini Fundadores HU Mag 46 Monte #1 Cohiba Lancero .....now those 5 make a full house!
