  1. Breaking in my new (to me) 2019 Vitpilen. Its horsepower is nothing to brag about, but it’s one of the lightest bikes of anything remotely comparable. A great toy for sure!
  2. Two of my favorite accessories I’ve grown very fond of: 1) 2 in 1 lighter by Vector. Vertigo makes a similar one, about half the cost, but the jet flame isn’t as protected from the wind, so this one remains my favorite. I switch between soft and jet flames depending on the situation, and it’s nice only having to carry one trusty lighter around 2) this bizarre looking contraption is the best cutter I’ve ever used. Made by Fox knives, called the 749, the actuation doesn’t work like most cutters do. It slides forward at the same time as it closes. This allows for a true slice compared to the normal clamp/clip that most others do. Blade is easily disassembled for sharpening. It’s overall bigger than I’d prefer, but at least it’s flat, and i haven’t found a cutter that works nearly as well.
  3. I only felt strongly about one size: a Corona Gorda would be fantastic to see! Montecristo’s line up is already pretty comprehensive, but a 46 rg would fill a gap between the 1, 3, 4’s and the Edmundos. Another gap is the extremely large formats, like a Double Corona, but I tend to like smaller cigars than that.
  4. Choix Supreme by a mile for me. The best Epi 1 I've had had lots of cream and wood and that's about it. The best Choix Supreme had bursts of honey, spice, leather, absolutely fantastic. One of my favorites.
  5. I try to let the cigar tell me what to do. If it stays on ok, great. If not, better in the tray than on me. But I don’t let it get much further than 2 inches generally. I have no idea how people are able to have such a long ash, but it’s sure impressive and I’d like to learn. Best I could do with this flaky cigar this weekend.
  6. One the enigmas for me as a new cigar smoker — I just don’t get them yet. I’m still hopeful and will keep trying. I haven’t found one that could be remotely described as cinnamon-y, so I’m hoping that I’ve just had a few duds so far.
  7. Cut off point?! Hell, I’ll try anything that has merit. That said, I’m not aware of any sticks bigger than 60rg that aren’t gimmicky. So, 60rg or less for me.
  8. I also haven't experience caramel from the PLPC. Some sweetness from it yes, but the most caramel I've experienced was actually from a few Sancho Panza Non-Pluses. And i like the Montecarlos' flavor better than the plpc, if only they could make that same taste in a bigger ring gauge. VR Famoso gives me a combo of earthy baking spice and raisins that play really well together. VR takes it.
  9. I have a short list of favorites, but variety is the spice of life! I prefer not to have the same meal multiple times in the same week, just like cigars.
  10. Drink List A = Cigar is in the spotlight. - Coffee with or without cream. - Lightly sweetened iced tea. - Cream soda - plain tap water. - Guinness, but for fuller smokes only Drink List B = I just want to cut loose - whatever the hell I want - a sherry heavy scotch, cognac, Diet Coke, squirt (grapefruit soda goes great with floral sticks), McDonald’s sweet tea —just to name a few favorites.
  11. I’m newer, so I’m still figuring out favorites on all fronts: flavors, length, ring guage, etc. while I’ve had churchills and double coronas that have blown me away, I reach for a robusto or corona gorda much more frequently. Even more frequently are petit robustos, or sometimes half coronas —they just slot in to the average day better.
  12. Nice pack! Easy to put every single item to use!
  13. These late hour panatelas are the perfect way to inject a bit of malty flavor during a round of fetch.
  14. Got mine here, I’m US based https://www.bestcigarprices.com/cigar-directory/vertigo-brand/vertigo-double-agent-single-torch-and-soft-flame-by-lotus-~-gunmetal-254091/
  15. Ideally, soft flame for the initial light, then jet for touch ups. But if there’s any draft, even the most gentle of air movement appreciable, I’m reaching for the jet. Hate playing “chase the flame” so I’d rather risk singeing the wrapper than wondering if I got a good light for the duration of the stick. My favorite lighter is this one: Vertigo Double Agent. Soft flame and jet, two lighters on one, finally with reasonable consistency and price. About 20 bucks.
  16. Favorite cigar bar — cigar bar and grill in San Francisco. Early hours it’s quiet and peaceful, later hours the bands come out and there’s dancing. Full bar, and a solid kitchen to boot. Love it here.
  17. Choix Supreme. It's a close call for me between the QdO52, the Coronas Claro, or the ERdM Choix Supreme. Unfortunately, the Choix Supreme can be a little inconsistent, but when they are on, they have outperformed any QdO I've had to date.
  18. How are some of you guys able to smoke so slow? I'm newish to cigars, and it feels like if i don't take a puff every 30 seconds, part of the cherry starts dying out. RH 62%, very stable storing conditions. @Chibearsv @Ford2112 @Cigar Surgeon
  19. It’s the compressor part of the air conditioning is responsible for the rh drop. 4% isn’t too bad. If you put a probe inside a closed box of cigars you’ll find the fluctuations are much less, and your cigars will generally be the average rH that your humidor fluctuates between. If your fluctuations become more than that, say in the summer when the a/c needs to run more, consider putting your boxes in a bigger plastic storage container, and have the lid cracked. Ziplock bags do the same thing, just leave them partly unsealed or cut the corners open. That would give you double the averaging effect, and very stable storing conditions.
  20. Medium rare for 80% of steaks. Medium for the fattiest ones. Helps render it better. Not many things better on this planet than a good char on a fatty cut.
