  1. I've been in Florida for the past 3 weeks housesitting for my brother as he works on an oil rig and his wife is spending a couple months with her family in Korea. Being that flights are so cheap from Ft. Lauderdale I decided to make a two day trip to Havana because why not. I arrived Monday afternoon, had all of Tuesday and flew back first thing Wednesday morning. With the short duration I had, I was only able to buy what customs were in stock ... those being a bundle of Churchills by Yolanda and a bundle of Dalias by Alex. I of course was most excited about these as I had absolutely no clue what to expect and now feel foolish for not trying one while I was there.... My last stop was Hotel Habana Libre where they had an opened box of Lanceros with 22 left. I opted to purchase them all but was not given the box, leaving me with 72 individual cigars. The employees at the Libre LCDH refused to write me a factura despite my pleading as I was already at my limit of 50 undocumented cigars. After getting no where with the employees I left hoping for the best when faced with Cuba's customs. Sure enough I was taken to a secondary room where everything was rummaged through and the customs agents decided I was not permitted to take any of the custom rolls. I'm still not sure why they had to take both because I would have been under the 50 ct. limit had they only taken 25 but it probably had to do with how angry I was... Regardless, I would do it again and I anticipate it in the near future but until then, if anyone has some customs they're willing to part with ... please let me know.
  2. Thanks for the responses everyone. I've decided to go with the EML, I'll post a pic when I get them.
  3. About to pull the trigger on a box of Super Coronas EL 2014 and I have the following box codes to choose from: ELU DIC 14 LUB NOV 14 EML SEP 14 AUM DIC 14 Not sure if this really matters or not but if anyone has some boxes with the codes listed above, feedback on them would be greatly appreciated. - Nick
  4. Thanks. The RAs are still adjusting to the humidor but I just had a BBF and it was great.
  5. Boxes from the last couple months.... sorry for the sideways pics
  6. I would highly recommend Florence over Naples. If you're looking for cigar shops your best bet in Rome is the LCDH, Fincato which I believe is near the Pantheon and in Florence the only place that sells quality sticks would be Tabacchi Cavini on Via Dei Neri 41, they always had a good and plentiful selection of singles. As for restaurants I'll only be of use in Florence because I didn't spend much time in Rome. Trattoria Cammillo - Great for dinner, very authentic and I was always the only American when I visited but they were still welcoming. Simbiosi - Really good pizza, waiters always spoke good English but always seemed like it was packed with Italians Trattoria Mario - One of the best places for lunch. Nothing fancy but a very cool, very local environment. Trattoria da Benvenuto - Another great spot for dinner and it's right by Tabacchi Cavini. Konnubio - Pretty upscale and pricey but certainly worth it. Good for dinner or lunch. Sandwichic - The best Panini I had in my 5 month stay there. Just ask for their most popular Panini and you won't be disappointed. Also remember to always make a reservation for dinner. You may not need to but I noticed the staff always treated me better if I did.
  7. Hello everyone, I've been lurking for a while now but finally decided it was time to make an account. Prior to this past spring I was only smoking NC's but after studying a semester in Florence, Italy and having CC's at my disposal, there was no going back once I returned to the states. I am only 20 so I would still consider myself a newb but as with all of my hobbies it's all or nothing. I'm excited to now be on the forum and looking forward to absorbing as much info as possible. I attached my current set-up for those that might care.
