  1. Thanks everyone! Now there´s a lot of reading to catch up what´s going on here...
  2. Here's a little pic of the "bar" and of my 42nd Street from last weekend. (sorry for the watch - I posted these pictures on a Swedish watch forum as well...)
  3. I have to agree with some of the guys above; all the classics are pretty good - Old Fashioned, Manhattan, Martini, Whiskey Sour. I recently started to learning to mix some of the classics in my home bar, and getting it set up with all the essentials. One of my faves is 42nd Street: 4 parts good Bourbon (Makers Mark does the trick) 1 part Grand Marnier 1 part Cointreau 1 part dry Vermouth (the same Noilly Prat you use for your Martinis will do) Chill a coctail glas - with ice or in the freezer. Stir all the good stuff on plenty of ice. Strain into the cocktail glass onto a cherry and wring out a lemon peel above the drink and rub the edges of the glass with the peel before dropping it into the glass. Enjoy! A few of those, and you will fall asleep with a smile on your face...
  4. Maybe it´s about time to drop in an say hello to everyone at this great forum. I´ve made some buys from the *****int with great success and I thought I´d give this forum some time. Seems to be a lot of nice and fun people hanging around here! My name is Ronnie, a middle aged, self employed man from a small town in the middle of Sweden. Quite new to the joys of a good cigar - it all started when I bought a humidor starter pack from a local web-site for my uncles 65th birthday, and got one for myself at the same time. This was about 2 years ago, and since then, I´ve sampled some good and some not so good cigars. I still have to call myself a newbie, though. The favourites have become the Cohibas. But I smoke maybe 2-4 cigars per month so the price issue isn´t a big deal. The best one so far was a Siglo VI that had been sitting in some guys humidor for a couple of years (bought it from the trade-section in a Swedish forum). Still have 4 to go waiting for the right time... Apart from the above I like good food and drink. I guess I could call myself a pretty decent cook. I do most of the cooking for the wife and my two kids. I don´t even mind the day to day cooking (as long as I get out of doing the dishes...), but off course it´s more fun to do the fancy stuff... I love the Italian cuisine and make a mean Carbonara for instance. Traveling is also nice. I only wish I could visit Italy more often. I try to go at least once a year for the beautiful country (especially the northern parts) and the good food and wine. A dream would be to move there in older days. I´d also like to go back to NYC sometimes. Me and my wife was there last fall for a great weekend. I´d love to go back and get to know some of the neighborhoods a little bit better now when I´ve crossed of the "have to see"-stuff. I´m also the proud owner of a 1969 Mustang Mach 1 which is my pride and joy during the summer season. Unfortunatly it´s not really running at the moment. Had some troubles with the engine this season, but I think the problem is solved for next season. 400 horsepower on the back wheels doesn´t make it the perfect car for the Swedish winter, so I have to wait until spring to try it out... I play some guitar and like my rock old school as well. The best stuff (as with the cars) was made in the 60s and the 70s if you ask me! The Stones, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, AC/DC are a coupe of favourits to mention a few. Among the more recent bads I like a lot of the 90s stuff - Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains. And some Swedish acts like the retro rockers Soundtrack of our Lives and the great Hellacopters. Well, that´s it for now! See 'ya!
