  1. ^ Same - an hour to hour and a half. Only really goes longer if I go searching for another scotch bottle.
  2. What a terrible loss for all of human-kind..... The words that are etched in the world's minds and history, the acts that stopped a globe and made us look to the heavens in awe, and the legacy that continues boldly into the future. Rest in Peace, a person that truly everyone on this blue planet had admired.
  3. Hopefully there are only those in the know, that have shared the experience of 2.1 Million Scoville's of pain, and the 'fun and games' that comes following the deployment of OC during training and operational deployment. (a Scoville is a unit of heat measurement in Chilli Pepper's - the principle ingredient of OC Spray & Foam). And it sucks - it never gets better, age and the number of times you've been exposed doesn't help, the old wives tales and tricks don't work no matter how much you want them too. The only solution I've ever found is a saline flush to the eyes after your exposure period, followed by continuous running water to the face for 15-30mins, and a few dozen washes with Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo for your hair (reduces the chance of re-exposure during a shower as it's Ph neutral). Yep, OC can suck harder then a Kardashian in an adult film, but it's a part of the job, and an unfortunate part to it is that at least a handful of times a month you'll end up with a secondary exposure...(in which case you owe the poor bugger at least a six pack of top shelf beer, and NO - 'Low Carb' is not classed as a beer no matter how much you want it too be). Then again it could be worse - Taser training is a lot more fun to watch (as long as it's not you on the barbed end) - but F&*KED if I'm gunna volunteer again for that ! Enjoy the reward Stogie !
  4. Welcome to the fun !
  5. Thanks a lot - facepalming myself because I didn't think about the time lag etc with the USA. The joys of shift work and the brain rotting that it produces over the many years :dunce: Thanks for all your suggestions - looks like is SeriousCigars can deliver the goods, they're the winner of my business
  6. Though of that first - they haven't replied to my two (2) emails, and from the online sign-up it doesn't look like they ship internationally.
  7. Hi to all: Just wondering if there is anyone that can point me in the right direction of purchasing a Boveda Spanish Cedar Tray/Holder (4-pack). I've tried the Australian cigar sellers, I've searched a few online sites from the US, Switzerland etc, and none have either replied to my queries or don't have the stock on hand and cannot provide an ETA for re-supply. I've even gone as far as emailing a few suppliers on Amazon.com to no avail. I'm not prepared to give an O/S company my details and credit card number if they can't even reply to a single email to verify they have stock on hand. So I'm asking for some directions from members - for that website that won't disappoint or even if you've got one and you no longer use it. I'm also new here to the forums and don't want to step on any toes, so if you do have one and are willing to part with it please PM me. Thanks for any and all help you can provide ! SJ
  8. Firstly just wanted to say 'Hi' to all the forum members as I've just joined the site. I'm not what you'd call a massive cigar buff, but hey, it's something I'm settling into and looking forward to enjoying for many years to come. I'm a shift worker and I love my job. Every now and then there are moments in my line of work where you need a little time away for some self-serving clarity and an opportunity to escape the grind. I call it 'Decompression Time'. Get away from the job, the differing character types of people you deal with on a seemingly endless basis, and the often complex and political nature of my line of work. Everyone - no matter what you do for a crust - needs a chance to unwind from the things that you see and experience almost seemingly on a regular basis. A work colleague peaked my interest into cigars after series of particularly rough shifts - and I've loved every moment since I found them. For me a cigar and glass of single malt or even a great coffee is the ultimate 'Decompression Time'. It is the ultimate stress relief - no doubt about it.
  9. Yeah I received the message the other day - I'm trying to scam a day off from work in order to get there. Fingers crossed ! Thanks to all for the warm welcome !
  10. Would be nice to get up to Qld. at some point in time but I don't think it's gunna happen anytime soon unfortunately. Add it to the wish list though! Thanks for the welcome aboard.
  11. Hello to all: I found this Forum quite by accident, and I must say I'm impressed ! I've been searching for another site that I can chat and seek advice on my new found passion I've been enjoying for about 18 months. So, a little about me as an intro: I live in Sydney Australia (Hills District for those in the know ), and I am your typical knock-about type of bloke. I love a drink or a coffee, and a chin wag (chat) over a stogie or two. I just purchases my second full box the other day, and I'm looking at keeping my two humidors up around the 100-150 mark (expense willing - in Oz its damn expensive for good sticks !). So I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing your thoughts, comments, reviews and seeking your guidance and advice as I travel through my cigar appreciation journey. Cheers !
