I have stored cigars at 61%, 65F for the last 30+ years with great results. This week enjoyed a 1963 RyJ Cazadores and a 1985 Davidoff #1 that smoked beautifully. Constant humidity, temperature and darkness is IMO the key.
Following on the heals of lighters and cutters, do you have any favorite ashtrays?
I have always liked the floor ashtrays from the early 1900's. Most are in pretty poor shape when you can find them and have to be restored. The first came from a NYC private mens club smoking room which has been restored. The second is a Dunhill found in Vancouver BC that still needs repair and retoration.
Why doesn't the buyer just smoke a few? It continues to amaze me that people will go through painless hours of research on everything, but taste ,that will prove little or nothing.... the proof is in the smoking.
Lots of mixed reviews on this cigar.... I find them to be developing quite nice and beginning to smoke well. I do sense there are some consistency issues however between boxes.... JMHO
Always a wonderful cigar that gets far too little attention. I have some 98 cabs that just keep getting better with age. As Havana's go the CS is IMO one of the most elegant cigars they produce.
I feel that we have lacked a 2 party system for the last 12 years and it is good for the country to regain some balance. I also have hope that the next 2 years will be productive given the Dem's need to make progress on key issues and GB's focus on leaving a legacy that will be favorable. I sense the greatest issue for the Dem's will not be GB or the Rep's, but rather the far left Dem leadership dealing with the newly elected Dem's who appear to be far more moderate. It will be most interesting will be to see if Madam Speaker can leave her way left San Francisco based leanings and effectively lead the Dem caucus which will require her to lean towards the center.
