TM-US
Today, a strange pairing- whisky with Japanese food. Started with some ***** Coffey Grain- nice, light, bourbon-like grain whisky. I would really love to see what this would be like with about 30-40 years of age and at cask strength. Followed by some awesome sushi at my favorite local spot. Well that wasn't sushi- Berkshire pork tontoro, grilled. Some hamachi belly! Switched to Suntory Hakushu 12 yr. Paired with roasted tuna cheek and collar, cooked in a Japanese barbecue sauce, soy-based. Then finished the night with a nice, smooth, sweet, easy drinking Glendronach 15 Tawny Port finish.
