Bartolomeo Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Dry pre draw with some resistance Tight compact grey ash Great burn Med smoke amounts Easy draw once lit Perfect construction Med flavor Rich, creamy initial puff, some light musty taste, toasted sugars, pound cake Very consistent flavors through out Sweet aroma Not aggressive, not passive but rather smooth Consistent-construction-flavor were the highlights for me I thought Great everyday CC for the price Sweet on my teeth 57 min smoke time 9.25/10……….Very good and loved this!
ksblazer Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Your review is very accurate with my experiences from the PLPC's I've smoked. These are quickly becoming one of my favorite PC's. I really need to get a cab so I can add them to my rotation.
Wil Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Thanks for the review. Got a couple of these on the way, so looking forward to seeing if they stack up...
BobbyRitz Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 The '07's are coming around. Give them another couple years and you'll be in for a treat.
thechenman Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Great review. The PLPC is my hands down favorite PC by a large margin.
Professor Twain Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Great review... and "pound cake" is a perfect descriptor.
samb Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Great review!! Sounds like something I oughta definitely pick up.
Aficionado Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 PLPC 07 my experience good but nothing special.rs PLCP 08 maybe still bit young but almost wonderful and great potential.ls Thanks for review.
jkljkl Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Great review. Like the other posts, PLPC's are my favorite Petit's. I find them to be a great second cigar.
thechenman Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Great review. Like the other posts, PLPC's are my favorite Petit's. I find them to be a great second cigar. These are my favorite PCs as well, but I prefer them as a first smoke.
SixburghDynasty Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 I've only had one from my 2007 fifty cab. My experience was not as good as yours. I found the flavors very subdued, not much at all going on other than the toasted tobacco taste. Thought these needed a good bit more time.
paesano Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 Great job and one of my favs. Thanks for the review.
Tampa1257 Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 With the Por Larrañaga marca, across the line I have found that I expect to taste "Caramel", Now this essence typically takes a few years to develop, I have tasted it in 05 PLPC's and they are just now beginning to develop in a cab of 07's that I currently have. If you ever try a PL Montecarlo (which I highly recommend!), the Caramel flavor is already developed in the 07 & 08 codes. I am aging a couple of boxes of the 05 RE PL Lonsdale's, got them as soon as they were released. With a few more years of aging, they should be spectacular.
Jimmy2 Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 I think their has been a blend change since 2005 as all the PL RE coming out they do not have that sweet flavor i use to pick up when fresh or aged with mid 05 to present. I think their are using most of the tobacco for the PL RE's and have change the blend in the PLPC's but i hope they come back to the old blend as the PL RE are not in demand every year. They have a more woody and earthy flavor with little or no Caramel/Sweet flavor young or aged. I also picked this up back in 2005/early 06 with the Monte Edmundo as i said the blend was changed but others said no but it was later confirmed that it was.. Just something to think about...
Wil Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 They have a more woody and earthy flavor with little or no Caramel/Sweet flavor young or aged. I've never tried one pre-2005, but ordered some singles from the Czar a few months back that definitely had the caramel/sweetness...
