trumpetchris Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 Cohiba Siglo II MAR 2007 Unfortunately, I don't have aged Cohiba stock to review. But the year on this stick has made it tasty. Prelight, not a strong odor, but a slight "barnyard" note. Construction was flawless, beautiful petite corona. Lit easily with the Xikar and I was immediately met with a strong spice and rich tobacco. Different than some Cohibas that seem to start grassy and "warm up" to a stronger flavor. This guy wasted no time. The spice mellowed after about a quarter inch, and turned to an almost cinnamon flavor. This subtle sweet spice mixed with hints of wood and tobacco made for a fantastic smoke. The finish was fairly long, with the tobacco and wood flavors dominating. This core flavor continued throughout the cigar with some harshness entering well past where the band would have been. Overall, the cigar was medium in body with some very pronounced flavors. They are good now, and I will assume some flavor changes will occur over time. However, I wouldn't mind smoking the rest now! 90/100
Jay Hemingway Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 i have a box from '06 that is un-freakin-believable!:-D
El Presidente Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 When "on" I love the Siglo II but of all Cohiba's I find the most variability in them. At their best it is daylight second in the PC ranks. Rich, lush cigars, complexy, honey, dark coffee, citrus peel.
Fia Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 I have a box that I havent touched since last summer. Maybe it is time to check to have a try! :-P
