Çnote Posted May 1 Posted May 1 @Capn_Jackson Lancerooooooooo Quite easy to smoke with Oreos and dates leading the sweetish flavors over a core of earth. Big unnecessary bang of flavor for a couple inches before mellowing out into something approachable. A surprisingly enjoyable lancero. 83 rough and ready blend, but well constructed. 4
Capn_Jackson Posted May 8 Posted May 8 I’ve been looking forward to this Lancero for awhile. The cold draw immediately brings me berries and cream, and a little cocoa powder underneath. Light-up has some pepper through the nose, but it disappears after the first couple puffs. From there it settles into graham cracker, crushed nuts, and a subtle lemongrass note that keeps things bright. Early on, the finish is excellent... long, creamy, and very cashew-forward, almost like cashew crème. Doesn’t quite last to the next puff, but close. Going on, I detect some fig or prune along for the ride. Construction is a little finicky through the first third though, needing a touch-up and one relight before it settles down. In the second act, the cigar loses most of that opening sweetness. Lots of tack leather, that old horse stable kind of profile I tend to enjoy, along with a little bitter stone fruit here and there. The cashew note stays, but becomes more like crushed nuts than crème. Mouthfeel turns noticeably powdery on the finish, and by the midpoint some bitter cocoa starts creeping in. Smoking this while grading papers, and it's soothing me as I get increasingly annoyed assigning zeros to obviously AI-written submissions. Come on, kids! The last third leans fully savory. Herbs, leather, cocoa, and a good amount of coffee dominate, with maybe just a touch of coriander or orange peel hanging around the edges. Overall, this was better in the first half, but it stays interesting enough to the last inch. Glad I grabbed these, regardless. I give it an 87. 2
