No one has mentioned YentlThe Jazz Singer, or Fiddler on the Roof either.

What does that say?  Not one post beyond me even mentioned Saturday Night Fever

I second your Saturday Night Fever mention. The others you just mentioned great too.  Grease hasn't been mentioned at all either, a bit of a surprise for me.

Depends if we're talking original scores or curated lists. Original score, this is as good as it gets for me: TIL: this is sung in a completely madeup language. Curated list,

Surprised no one has said Forrest Gump yet.

Singles - The movie was utter trash lol but the Soundtrack and Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns by Mother Love Bone, Seasons by Chris Cornell and Drown by Smashing Pumpkins. Plus anything with Mark Lanega

Any movie track by Guy Ritchie or Quentin Tarantino.

Not sure why, but another one of the biggest selling movie soundtracks wasn't mentioned: Trainspotting.

I was waiting for this one. High up on my list, too.

I enjoyed the Pulp Fiction sound track.

For sure, Guardians of the Galaxy also.

I’m thinking Animal House, Apocalypse Now, Repo Man!

Does ‘The Song Remains the Same’ count?

Harold and Maude was another great one. Cat Stevens.

Bud Cort just passed away too. Great movie as well.

But... the soundtrack that I listen to most is a film not many people have seen, but I love. Until the End of the World. Wim Wenders masterpiece.

Oh yes, +1 for me on Until the End of the World. Title track is U2's most underrated song, it's perfect.

For me, the below two scores/soundtracks are truly great.

Trevor Jones did most of the heavy lifting on The Last of the Mohicans score. I think Randy Edelman filled in some gaps.

John Powell does great work with small orchestras, and the first Bourne sequel was his best work. Be careful putting this on the car stereo while driving down the freeway, you'll end up driving 30 miles over the speed limit.

Agree 100% on the U2 song. I saw them at the Sphere and they played it. It was an awesome experience. I really wish more people could see that movie and appreciate it. For a very long time it was just unavailable in the US. It seems whatever licensing dispute caused this has been resolved because I was finally able to buy the Bluray a while back.

Also, agree on the Bourne music. I had "Treadstone Assassins" as my phone ring tone for a good while. It really fit well for that purpose, in my opinion.

The distinction between a movie soundtrack and a movie score I think needs to be more clearly defined.

Guardians of the Galaxy is great, but it’s Almost Famous for me.
