JohnS Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Daniel Marshall Cigar Lounge Campfire Event in Kitzbühel February 17, 2025 - Reinhard Pohorec Kitz glitz, glamour and golden moments at the 9th annual Daniel Marshall Cigar Lounge Campfire Event in Kitzbühel. When the high society gathers in Kitzbühel for the Hahnenkamm Race, skiing quickly becomes a minor matter. Daniel Marshall’s Cigar Lounge Campfire Event has established itself as a fixture of the colourful hustle and bustle in and around the Gamsstadt. For the ninth time, the humidor and cigar manufacturer from California invited illustrious international guests to the Kitzbühel Country Club on January 25th, 2025. Celebrities from the worlds of art, culture and sport gathered at Richard Hauser’s Kitzbühel Country Club on Saturday after the famous Hahnenkamm downhill race to celebrate the pleasure of cigars in an elegant setting. Despite the frosty temperatures, hosts Marshall and Hauser wanted to create an atmosphere reminiscent of balmy cigar evenings in the Caribbean. Thirty radiant heaters, elaborately constructed tents and comfortable seating made it possible for around 150 guests to enjoy DM Red Label ‘Papa Joe’ cigars, fine single malts from Balvenie and Glenfiddich alongside delicious canapés. As in years prior, the event attracted a high-calibre international audience. In addition to guests from Austria, Germany, England and France, cigar passionados even travelled from Los Angeles to be part of this modern-day campfire. Initiator Daniel Marshall shared his vision of comradery and thanked his fellows for their loyalty and support: The Campfire is for all and we share the common appreciation of friendship, new and old, while savoring life lasting “Golden Moments.” On Thursday, the event weekend had already kicked off with a highlight for cigar lovers: two rare, handmade DM humidors were auctioned off as part of the Special Dinner for Climate Action at the Stanglwirt under the patronage of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Cult auctioneer Simon de Pury himself wielded the wooden hammer and welcomed Daniel Marshall as ‘the Mozart of humidor makers’. Lot 1 was The Kitzbühel Humidor: a hand-painted collector’s item decorated with a bronze medallion that replicates the life-size sculpture of a skier in Kitzbühel, as well as the names of the winners of all eighty Hahnenkamm downhill races. The second Lot was the Terminator Cigar Jar. The elaborately designed ceramic in the shape of the Terminator’s endoskeleton skull was specially made for Arnold Schwarzenegger on the Amalfi Coast – based on the original film prop by Stan Winston and Jim Cameron’s Legacy Studios. Together, the two Daniel Marshall works brought in the impressive proceeds of 50,000 euros for the foundation.
