1959 Maserati Wins Best Of Show At 2024 Audrain Newport Concours d’Elegance

Car show held on the grounds of The Breakers mansion in Newport, Rhode Island

A stunning array of 184 cars from across the United States and Europe were recently on display in Rhode Island at the Audrain Newport Concours d’Elegance, held on the lavish grounds of The Breakers mansion, the former home of the Vanderbilt family.

The event was the conclusion of the Audrain Newport Motor Week, which took place earlier this month. Comedian, former “Tonight Show” host and car enthusiast Jay Leno, who is a friend of the Audrain and supporter of the Concours, was at the event.

There were 184 cars at the Audrain Newport Concours d’Elegance, held on the shores of Newport, Rhode Island.

There were 70 judges for the Audrain Newport Concours d’Elegance, and Best of Show was awarded to a 1959 Maserati 3500 GT Bertone Coupe owned by Jim Utaski. His car was designed by Franco Scaglione, creator of the Alfa Romeo “B.A.T.” series of cars, and underwent a nine-year restoration. Among its details were four pieces of matching custom luggage in the rear instead of seats.

A 1958 Devin SS SR2-6 roadster owned by Kevin Callahan captured the People's Choice award.

“Our event not only celebrates the beauty and innovation of historic vehicles but also serves as a reminder of the rich heritage and cultural significance of the automotive industry, bridging the past with the present,” says Donald Osborne, the outgoing CEO of Audrain, who is moving to a consulting role with company. “And our Best of Show winner wonderfully captures our theme of ‘History, Luxury and Sport’ in one vehicle.”

The next Audrain’s Newport Concours d’Elegance will be held on Sunday, October 5th as a part of the 2025 Concours & Motor Week beginning on October 2nd.

I've attended this event a while back with a free ticket. Lots of gold-digging eye candy and marvelous cars. The views are great. Jay Leno was walking around.
