Isn't Montecristo a global brand also? My five picks would be, Montecristo Double Edmundo, Romeo y Julieta Churchill, Partagas E2, Hoyo de Monterey Epicure 2 and H Upmann #2. Those would be 5. If I can add a sixth to round off the Global brands of Habanos, it would be Cohiba Siglo 3

This question would be easier if a year was specified!!

Cohiba Medio Siglo (They couple I tried were great fresh unlike most of the marca)

Montecristo Edmundo (not the greatest, but consistently delicious)

Hoyo Epicure 2 (Latest examples have been great, Rio Secos are a close second)

Upmann Mag 50,(this is a hard choice)

Partagas lusitania (My all time favorite smoke, but D4’s also made this a hard choice)

RyJ Regalias de Londres (I can really care less about this brand but I enjoy this short smokes, nice complexity with some age. If Monte 5’s didn’t reach ridiculous pricing, I wouldn’t consider these)

Cohiba Esplendidos - I know, somewhat unicorns now, but they're always top of my Cohiba list 😁

Hoyo Rio Seco - flavorful unlike other Hoyos

Upmann No. 2 - Darker wrappers the key for me

Partagas E2 - Not seen regularly but the best Partagas by far - in my opinion

RyJ Churchill - when these are on (rare), hard to beat

Cohiba: Sig III (the II's and VIs that I've smoked from that time have been PHENOMENAL, but the III is an all timer for me) 

HdM: Epi 2 (another all timer)

H.U.: HU #2 (late 21 through current have been killer)

Party: E2 with Lusi runner up. (the masses seem to prefer the D4, but they've never really 'did it' for me.) 

RyJ: not enough samples for me....not a marca I go for. 

Monte: Monte No.2 (there's some duds out there for sure; but I also have had amazing ones. Colorado rosado wrappers on some of the best I've had).

Interesting that most people are picking HdM Epi. 2 for Hoyo. Looking back at historical discussions on the forum, there is an unambiguous preference for the Petit Robusto over the Epi. 2. Has the Epi. 2 edged out the Petit Robusto in the past year? Or has everyone forgotten about the Petit Robusto since they smoked through them first and thus "out of sight out of mind"?

Quite possibly. In my case, I chose the Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No.2, quite simply, because I figured it was the best and most consistent option for its marca between 2021 and 2023.

Epi 2 are on fire in recent years. I think historical performance is not reflective of future, in this case maybe more than ever. Furthermore in context of price relative to other marcas and vitolas. 😀
