Popular Post justince Posted May 13, 2021 Popular Post Posted May 13, 2021 Smoked this the other day when I was craving something, but the weather wasn't cooperating (little bit of rain). A nice minuto so I don't get soaking wet The Siglo I is actually the cigar that got me into Cubans. I'm not sure if it was pure placebo, but the first time I had one many years back it was the absolute best cigar I ever smoked, by a long shot. I can't give the specifics of the smoking experience, this was a loooong time ago (~7-10 yrs ago?) - but had such a unique flavor profile that was just so different than anything else I've ever had. Fast forward, and the first box of cubans I picked up were these. Draw and burn are flawless. They've got a bit of age on them, and it shows -- the smoke has a bit of mustyness. Creamy and nutty throughout, with hints of vanilla and bread. I wouldn't say cake since the sweetness isn't there, but certainly vanilla and bready notes. It's an overall very enjoyable smoke -- but it doesn't remind me at all of that first one I smoked years back. While it's a good stick, I can't recommend buying these. While this is one of the better smaller smokes that comes out of the island, it's really hard to justify the high price tag for these minutos. I'd take a box of Partagas shorts, HUHC --- hell, just about anything -- for half the price (or less!). On pure smoking experience, I'd give it an 8.5 -- It's a great stick, but the value proposition isn't there. I can't recommend you buy these. If you want a special occasion Cohiba smoke, get a special occasion vitola. I promise, you're not missing out. Unless you so happen to get one from that golden box I had all those years back. 5
