Ken Gargett Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 for visitors... i think i'd rather deal with these than the computer issues. except the bottom one. the commentary is not mine. It's a battle royale between two of our country's most deadly animals. Picture: Reddit People from overseas often have the perception that Australia is a deadly country, with wildlife that will kill you as soon as look at you. Looking at these pictures, it’s hard to argue with them. Nothing to see here. Just a beached whale that is being savagely devoured by crocodiles. Picture: Imgur It's a bold python that decides it has the capacity to inhale a kangaroo whole. Dream big, eh? Picture: Imgur And just when you thought you'd seen it all, this one is eating a crocodile. Picture: YouTube Hooooo boy. This is a cannibal crocodile. A CANNIBAL CROCODILE. Honestly I don't know what hope there is for any of us. Picture: Reddit Even our cuddly adorable native animals will potentially rip your face off / pass on chlamydia. Picture: Bored Panda Sure, the python devouring the big old bat thing is terrifying. But take a moment to have a closer look at that bat's paw/hand. Sleep well tonight, won't you? Picture: Imgur Just another crocodile butchering a shark, because it is so mind-boggling it's worth another look. Picture: Reddit We also know to be afraid of the roos. They are built like they do cross fit daily, and they can kick you right across a paddock. Picture: Reddit Even our pine cones can grow so large that they can fall out of a tree and kill you (seriously, it's happened). Picture: Reddit This is a highly creative way of getting rid of unwanted drop-ins from your family. Picture: Reddit Pass the Mortein. Picture: Imgur That snake head is way to well camouflaged with the petrol hose for our liking. We would frankly rather fill our car up with diesel and wreck the motor than use that pump. Picture: Imgur Let us all tip our hat to the hard as nails volunteer at this regional op shop who dragged a python out of the store with her bare hands. Picture: Imgur This is a rotting whale carcass. When whales die there can be a build up of gasses in the decomposition process. And when the gas builds up, sometimes they explode. That's right! An explosion of rotting whale flesh. Isn't nature beautiful? Picture: Imgur Toot toot! All aboard the snake train! This is a whole bunch of cane toads hitching a ride on a python. Picture: Imgur Next time you lift the lid of your toilet, imagine being greeted with this visual. Picture: Reddit You may look at this and think it looks like very pretty frost. It's actual spider webs. Heaps and heaps and heaps of spider webs. Time to vacate the area, stat. Picture: Reddit Even our insects look like something out of Jurassic Park. Picture: Imgur If you walked out your back door and were greeted with this sight, you would be well within your rights to never leave the house again. Picture: Bored Panda But as we all know, this is the animal that truly causes most fear among Australians. Picture: Lifehacker Posted without comment. Picture: Daily Telegraph 3
dragn270 Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 I can just hear the Op shop lady saying to the guy in the back, “Stop being a bitch and grab the damn tail!”

griller Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 I can handle all of these pics except for that freakin' MASSIVE spider and half naked politician in a red nut hugger. 1

I hear ya! My fear of that spider is irrational, while my disdain for the (any) politician is well founded.
mprach024 Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 Lol that spider. My god I’d rather wrestle the croc. You guys are nuts, here’s one of your moths I saw in news feed. What’s wrong with Australia!!?? 1 hour ago, griller said: I hear ya! My fear of that spider is irrational, while my disdain for the (any) politician is well founded. Your fear is very rational.
Boxer31 Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 what's up with the bats - one looked like a teradactyl and the other one was definitely a vampire! and I only thought the snakes, spiders and jellyfish were the main dangers.
Ites Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 This is a highly creative way of getting rid of unwanted drop-ins from your family. Picture: RedditNo big surprises overall, except for this wall climbing sneaky thing! I heard the spiderpig tune going but maybe that's just to keep calm 1

Meesterjojo Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 It's almost the same here minus the wall climbing lizards. The other night on shift we had a western diamondback and a swarm of camel spiders I had to remove. This area in the US the the absolute limit for me. I can't imagine living down there. I'm not into challenges. Sure, a few lethal snakes, some wicked spiders and scorpions, but everything else is deer, elk, bobcats, coyotes. And none of it sees me as a meal. Well, maybe the mountain lions and bears. Had a coworker take the job of a lifetime, his words, in New Zealand recently. Wonder what they have to kill you.

RichG Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 I think you’ve exhibited a really poor showing of tourist behavior if you happen to contract chlamydia from a koala.

During the 2000 Sydney Olympics, the Olympic Torch attracted millions of bogong moths from across the city. Many bogongs knew what it was like to be roasted in the depths of the Olympic flames that year, I can tell you!.... and so can all the spectators who had seats anywhere near the Torch. Barbecued bogongs rained down on people all night long. Those dark areas on the building are not dirt, but millions of bogong moths. 1

Ever see King Kong? I always thought all the giant insects were CGI, apparently they just filmed on location in Australia.

Not according to the folks beneath the torch. Many brought umbrellas to watch the Games during night sessions. Of course, all of those people were tourists. Aussies had better sense and stayed at home to watch for free. Plus the beer was cheaper and the toilet easier to access. And you didn't want to miss "The Dream with Roy & HG" each night.
