Popular Post El Presidente Posted May 10, 2021 Popular Post Posted May 10, 2021 I am sure he is having a great time spinning tales that will be spread far and wide 9
riderpride Posted May 11, 2021 Posted May 11, 2021 Where on earth did you find this? I'm sure they walked this guy through the 'shop' on the plantation and offered him some genuine barber pole cohibas. No volado though - that's for guantanamara
Nino Posted May 11, 2021 Posted May 11, 2021 Cohiba Esplendido Maduro for Fidel and BS for the rest ... LOL Love it. 1
Popular Post Ryan Posted May 11, 2021 Popular Post Posted May 11, 2021 Well at least he gives the some of correct names of the primings, not necessarily what they are used for... Mañanitas, the first two leaves picked off the bottom of the plant. Much of this, if not all, is discarded as it get damaged by touching the ground while it is on the plant. Libre de pie, the second priming, not "Libra de pie" or "pound of feet" as the translator helpfully offers. "Libre de pie" or "Free standing" as these are the first leaves that grow without touching the ground and are usable for cigars. These are what I was picking on my couple of days "working" on Hector's farm. It's back-breaking. Nearly as bad as picking potatoes. I once saw a farmer in a field of tobacco tell some tourists, "These are the plants for volado, the ligero plants grow on hilltops where they are nearer the sun." I suppose anything to break up the monotony of the day! Farmers, like mechanics, are the same the world over with their stories for the gullible. 2 5
