Every week we're going to have a poll about the definition of a forgotten or obscure word. Pick the definition you believe to be the correct one. All voters (correct or not) go into the draw for an El Pres Sampler!!  :party: (Drawn Tuesday morning, Brisbane time. Please note: Polls don't show on Tapatalk, you can participate via a web version of the site)

@Fuzz is now co-piloting this with me, and he's delivered a great word and some superb decoy definitions this week - Thanks Fuzz! 

NO GOOGLING OR DICTIONARY USE! We're using the honour system. It's just a bit of fun. If you know, you know. If you don't, have a stab in the dark or an educated guess (if you prefer that term). ;)

You may elaborate about your choice in the topic thread below if you wish but no posting of any official definitions, etc., that will give away the game for others.

I do love the art of the definitions. The real challenge is to get an equal split Between all of the definitions . I think then we would randomly select a member here to send you some cigars

I think I’d have a better chance of getting these right if I don’t ready the possible definitions but just randomly picking one without reading ?

I am bad at this lately. I used to be better toward the beginning when it was funny words for bagpipes. Bring back the old times.

No.4 it was. Only 18% got it. I think Fuzz is getting better at the decoys... Got some interesting tweaks in mind for this comp in 2020... stay tuned! :yes:

I think the snag is "a rock small enough to throw"... kind of flimsy as far as 'definitions' go.  I mean, a stong man's dornik wouldn't be a dornik at all for a weaker man...  And are smaller stones, by nature, more dorniky because they can be thrown further?  It also begs the question of how to distinguish between lobbing, tossing, and throwing.  Is any rock a dornik simply because it can be painstakingly lobbed?.. or does it need to travel a certain distance or a certain speed?

Wahoo! :party: It's a good job all answer go into the draw as I don't think I was even close to getting it correct.
