Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure 2 Unknown tubo 17 (HDMCRW)

Bought the tubo in Puerto Vallarta a couple years back and have let it sit for a bit, what better time to break it out then now. We have an academy going on right now so I've been busy with teaching, but looks like I'm going to get this in just under the wire.

 

HDM Epicure #2 what more can be said. Quality and consistent for me, not the strongest but satisfying. I've also always appreciated the bands for some reason, I think they look fantastic, very clean. It is able to deliver a complexity whilst being very subtle about it, it doesn't need to be in your face about it. Very similar to being the prettiest girl in the room but not knowing it. #2 can flaunt it but doesn't need to. The flavors are very consistent for me and while it wasn't my introduction to Cubans, it is often the one I recommend to most. Just a touch of cinnamon and dried fruits with a pronounced tobacco undertone throughout. I could have grabbed one of my winnies but I somehow found this to be the most appropriate sticks(it's definitely not because I'm running low on Sir Winston's haha) Anyway there it is Epicure #2 in all it's consistent glory. 94/100

 

Paired with a porter in a tall glass and a BBQ.
