Whilst looking for a cigar to smoke this morning I discovered I’m completely out of any form of Trinidad. Used to enjoy the odd Reyes and the Robusto T of course.

How’s current production Reyes/Colonials/Vigia compare???

Sadly cant justify the $$$ for the La Trova.

How does Coloniales/Reyes and Vigia compare? Sorry, dear friend, I've been far too busy enjoying recent 17/18 Fundadores. Woohoo...out of this world! ?

Not a huge Vigia fan. Reyes and Coloniales from the past 3 years or so have been of good quality from what I've had.

Vigia have been a complete meh for me, tons of construction issues that ought to be inexcusable on such a high priced cigar (I'd say I'm batting close to a %70 issue rate on one box...). Fundys have been fantastic, haven't smoked any semi-recent Reyes or Colonials.

Picked up some great Coloniales and Fundadores in Havana end of April, smoking great!

Funds rule.

I have a Fundi that I bought as a single last year that I have been waiting to smoke.  Will have to soon.

Reyes are always a good bet. Recent Fundys seem to also be receiving high marks.

Coloniales can be good, but there are an awful lot of bad ones out there. A cigar I would only buy HQ/PSP from Rob.

Vigia never seems to be great. Some very good ones, an awful lot of mediocre ones.

La Trova also seems to be generally well received, but for that money I'd probably stick to Fundys.

Have a ‘17 box of Reyes, very good but holy nicotine.  They’ve kicked my ass.

I like it.

Thanks. Several years ago the coloniales mediocrity led me back to the reyes. Seems like I’ll just stock up on them until Rob ships to my location again.

That good huh? Might have to find someone to split a box. Hope you’re well @JohnS, would be great to join you for a smoke!

The Reyes are a great quick smoke for me! The fundi well I have only had three one was a very tight draw and the other two where amazing just waiting to pull the trigger and get a box. The la trova well that’s a special thing I love them I have a box here I can get two boxes for the price of a box of fundi

I am a permanent fan of the vigia. It’s so short that any burn issue won’t bum you out for too long. Smoke slower if it’s getting wonky on you.

I think the la trova is fun to try but I’m not in love with the box I got. It’s more subtle and complex than the classic Trinidad profile.

The reyes is a bit rustic and “simple” for me.

The fundadores is my Trinidad winner. I grabbed a handful of them in Milan last week for €20 each which is a great price and the lancero size is thin enough that the burn can never get too crooked on you.

Last year I had coloniales a few times but I don’t recall much and I haven’t had luck stumbling upon any Topes.

TL:DR Fundie #1

Just getting into the marka myself, and Cubans in general, I’ve had a very good and very bad Reyes, 2 bad Coloniales and 1 excellent one, and both Vigias have been very good. All young except the Coloniales.  I’m sitting on a box of Fundies until they hit the 1 year mark at least.
