irratebass Posted June 2, 2019 Posted June 2, 2019 Sadly I only have a few more left of these from this box. I've become a big fan of the Edmundo line. They just give me what I am looking for in a cigar smoking experience, Getting away from myself, so let me slow down. I smell the body of the cigar, and I don't really get any aromas , so I shrug and go to the foot.......maybe there's a hint of wine there, but really nothing more. So pre draw.....very tight with the punch......I do another punch since there's room on the cap......still too tight, get out my trusty dusty PerfecDraw.....still too tight, couple more times.....nope, ok let's straight cut it......that helped......A LITTLE......light up. I use my soft flame (I prefer soft flame with my Cubans.......don't read too much into that, it's just personal preference). I notice the head is a bit uneven, so I grab another straight cutter (don't ask, i have lots of toys, ya never what kind of mood you'll be in, so I'm always prepared with several cutters, lighters....ya know? Toys). Draw is still very tight, but not going to use the PD again, will just deal with it, and smoke slower. 1/3 Mmmmm right away I am greeted with that mild sweet almost tannic, but not really flavor, let's just chalk it up to that classic "Cuban Twang" we hear of so much. Really nice ash is forming on this Monte. Draw is slowly opening up, but not much. Getting some sweet coffee notes mixed with tea and some wood flavors but just barely along with citrus notes on the retro and finish. 2/3 Draw is closing up again.......arrrgh! Mostly getting citrus flavors now, the wood is all but gone.....there may be a hint of cherries too....mmmm So good! 3/3 Ok the ciger went out on me.....grab the trusty dusty PD while the cigar was out, it helped a bit re-light....and back to wonderfulness. Smoked this down to the nub, had to put it down, starting getting that charred flavor. Draw Well as i mentioned this one was rough, very tight....had to manipulate it. When I did get a nice draw it was pleasant. Fortunately this was only one from my box that has had a bad draw. Burn Very nice, only had one touch up to report, so no complaints. Construction Other than the tight draw I really have no complaints in this dept. Ash held on for about a 1/4 of an inch with each third. Overall C'mon, this was a great smoking experience. Sure the draw was tight, but it just made me smoke it slower, and we all know that that makes for a better smoking experience anyway, so I can't *****. I was greeted with wood, cherry and citrus flavors. Will be sad to see this box empty out. Smoking time 85 mins 3
